A NEWLY identified human parvovirus might be the third-biggest cause of gastroenteritis in children, an Australian study suggests.

Human bocavirus (HBoV) was previously shown to be strongly associated with acute respiratory infection of children, said the director of infectious diseases and clinical microbiologist at the Royal Children's Hospital, Brisbane, Associate Professor Michael Nissen.
