NORTH Queensland GP Dr Damian Byrnes has worked a multitude of jobs -- from petrol station attendant to management consultant -- but now he wants to try his hand at federal politics.

Dr Byrnes' planned Common Sense Party aims to double the number of locally trained doctors and nurses, introduce easy-to-understand work contracts, cut red tape and put a stop to party politics.
