EXERCISE HELPS BEAT DEPRESSION
EXERCISE is the most effective self-help strategy against depression, according to a study of more than 2500 Australians with the condition. The Black Dog Institute research found that of all therapies apart from pharmacological treatments and psychotherapies, exercise was rated as the most effective treatment for depression. It was followed by yoga/meditation, relaxation and massage, while herbal preparations and omega-3 fatty acids returned the lowest ratings.
