YOU are frustrated by delays in receiving reports from one of the surgeons to whom you refer patients. You usually receive a letter from him after the initial consultation. However, after the patient is admitted for surgery, the postoperative reports often do not reach you until the patient is long discharged from his care.
While this may suit the surgeon, it does not help you, particularly when the patient presents in the interim with postoperative complications or for follow-up.
