COMBINING oral steroids with standard therapy for early rheumatoid arthritis provides additional protection against joint destruction, a review suggests.
The meta-analysis examined 15 studies where most patients received oral glucocorticoids and a disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) such as sulphasalazine.
