LAST week witnessed the opening rounds of the Federal election campaign on health, when Federal Health Minister Mr Tony Abbott and his new sparring partner -- Opposition health spokeswoman Ms Nicola Roxon -- arrived in Sydney for some preliminary fisticuffs.

It was strictly Queensberry rules, perhaps reflecting the view that health is one of those Cyneutralised' election issues, a sideshow to the real stuff on climate change, water shortages and taxation.

From Labor we are going to be hearing a lot about the glories of preventive health. Ms Roxon's eyes burned ...
