A MAN'S body has been exhumed against his family's wishes as police extend their investigation into patient deaths at a rural NSW hospital.

Local GP Dr Balaji Rao, who was VMO at TocumwalHospital, had his registration suspended in February under the emergency powers of the NSW Medical Board. No criminal charges have been laid.

Last week the body of Mr Bob Cooling, an 88-year-old war veteran who died at the hospital earlier this year, was exhumed.
