Spinach is the superhero of the winter vegie garden.

ENGLISH spinach plants tend to bolt suddenly to seed, which is why this outstanding vegetable in not grown widely in Australia.

In NSW, many people describe silverbeet as spinach but these are two different plants. True spinach is a far tastier winter vegetable that loves the cold and may even freeze solid. Other varieties of spinach are suitable for spring and summer.
