DOCTORS using electronic prescribing without electronic decision support risk making more prescribing errors, including giving patients the wrong doses and the wrong medicines, according to a government research report.

Concerns about e-prescribing systems were highlighted in the Productivity Commission's 700-page report on medical technology and its impact on health costs, released last week.
