WHEN Dr Geoff Sparkes chose to train in medicine, he had no ambitions to become a GP.
Back then his passion was emergency medicine, from attending hospital trauma cases to leaping from helicopters as a flying doctor.
But Dr Sparkes' career path changed when an injury left him with nerve palsy and a partly paralysed right arm, effectively ending his career in emergency medicine.
