CIRCUMCISION offers the same level of protection against HIV infection in heterosexual men as a highly effective vaccine, according to a landmark study.
In the first randomised controlled trial of its kind, researchers found circumcision provided 60% protection against the virus, confirming the results of a large body of observational studies.
