UNLESS they are working in an area so remote there are no televisions, radios, phones or newspapers, every GP in Australia has had at least one panicked patient pressuring them for a prescription for antivirals, which they want to stockpile in case of an influenza pandemic.

While the Federal Government is concentrating on big-picture issues such as keeping our borders secure -- important, no question -- it seems to have overlooked the fact general practice is the group inundated by concerned patients.
