ZYBAN SUPPORT PROGRAM ENDS

GLAXOSMITHKLINE has ended its free support and counselling program for patients using bupropion hydrochloride (Zyban), according to a company letter sent to doctors.

The move, which the company said was due to a "reallocation of resources", will not affect patients enrolled in the Smoke Free Clean Start Program before 31 December 2005, but once all these patients have completed the 14-week program it will cease to operate.
