WARFARIN A FRACTURE RISK IN SOME MEN
LONG-term use of warfarin could be putting men with atrial fibrillation at greater risk of osteoporotic fractures, according to a new study.
Researchers investigating patients with AF on warfarin found overall there was a non-significant 25% increase in the risk of fracture compared with patients not taking warfarin.
However, when data was analysed by gender, there was a significant 63% increase in risk among men but only a non-significant 5% increase in risk in women.
