EDITOR Four years ago, pregnant with my first child, I attended an obstetrician whose waist circumference was more than he would've liked and whose tired eyes became glazed and misty when looking at photos of his wife and three children. This incredibly talented, generous man obviously came to the realisation that something had to change and, months later, gave up his extremely successful obstetric practice.

I recently heard the former obstetrician had lost a significant amount of weight and looked 10 years younger and very happy.
