PNG The Red Cross warns that Papua New Guinea is at risk of an HIV epidemic, and has launched an appeal to raise funds for HIV programs in the country. The PNG Government has also quadrupled spending on HIV prevention. About 60,000 people in PNG have the disease, but the Red Cross says AusAid research indicates this figure could rise to 500,000 in 20 years.
