EDITOR The RACGP's new modular assessment process for fellowship ('RACGP unveils flexible fellowship path', 12 January) is an exciting development that has been four years in the making. It has been specifically designed for those that are most resistant to doing the fellowship -- for example, members of the AMA council of general practice, non-VR GPs, senior non-fellows in the RACGP heirarchy and most grandfathered VR GPs.

Two-thirds of the assessment is online, and the one-third that isn't is based on the least-threatening part of the exam. A trial is under way ...
