Staff Tests have shown that the SafeLane system produces safer roads with less maintenance An innovative surface overlay system that is intended to produce safer roads with less maintenance was recently installed on the Looking Glass River Bridge on northbound US-127 at East Dewitt, north of Lansing.
Michigan Technological University and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) installed the surface overlay system. The SafeLane Surface Overlay system, developed at Michigan Technological University, is made up of a patented combination of epoxy and aggregate rock.
