Walsh's wry sense of humor is one thing that helps her to make an impact in the male-dominated world of auto manufacturing.

She is production manager of Mondeo assembly at Ford of Europe's Genk, Belgium, plant, with 1,900 workers under her supervision.

She also is the Automotive News Europe 2001 Woman of the Year.
