Automotive News Europe, December, 2001 by Chew, Edmund
ZF Friedrichshafen moved quickly to appoint a management team at its new ZF Sachs subsidiary.
The German driveline and chassis specialist named Hans-Georg Harter head of the new clutch and shock absorber unit. ZF Sachs was formed following ZF's takeover of Mannesmann Sachs from Siemens.
Harter had been chairman of ZF Passau, ZF's off-road driveline and axle systems division.
Harter is leaving on a high note. ZF Passau's contract to supply axle parts for the new VW Tuareg off-roader has boosted the division's production forecast for 2002.
