COLOGNE - Ford of Europe may exclude its Dagenham, England, diesel engine plant from a pay-on-production scheme with suppliers of manufacturing equipment.
Ford is introducing pay-on-production at its car assembly plants in Europe, but using it with engine factories is another matter, said David Thursfield, Ford of Europe chairman, CEO and president.
With pay-on-production, Ford pays a small amount to a supplier as each vehicle is sold, rather than buying the supplier's equipment outright.
