Jaguar called 2001 a year of great achievement.
The automaker moved boldly into a new vehicle segment with the X-type to rival the BMW 3 series. Jaguar broke sales records for the fourth consecutive year, topping 100,000 units. And more growth is expected this year.
But is Jaguar's future as promising as it seems?
The X-type has not met pre-launch sales targets and incentives are already in place. Volumes plunged for the larger S-type in Europe and the USA, even though it is a relatively new model. And Jaguar parent Ford canceled the S-type's replacement platform to cut ...
