Golf minivan is just the start for flexible VW platform.

A Volkswagen compact minivan due in September will be the first model based on VW group's new modular A platform.

The platform - also referred to as PQ35 within VW - will gradually be applied to all the group's mid-size models.

The current A platform is also used for several models, including the VW Golf, Bora and New Beetle; the Audi A3 and TT; the Skoda Octavia; and the Seat Toledo and Leon.
