Dealers want Mercedes-Benz to lower the equipment levels of the Vision GST because they say customers aren't ready for a high-tech, high-priced crossover model.
Mercedes unveiled the Vision GST at the Detroit auto show in January. The car will be produced starting in 2004 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA. The Vision GST - which stands for "Grand Sports Tourer" - will be based on the next-generation M-class sport-utility built in Tuscaloosa.
Annual production of the GST is expected to range from 50,000 to 80,000 units.
