Saab Automobile's global sales performance was once again disappointing last year. Given the Swedish automaker's history over the past decade, does the world need Saab any more?
Saab's 10,000 employees, and the thousands more who work for its suppliers and distributors around the globe, obviously say yes.
But car buyers have lacked enthusiasm for Saab products since the early 1990s. Saab sales fell 4.5 per cent last year to approximately 126,350, which is even below the levels it achieved in the late 1980s.
