Automotive News Europe, February, 2002 by Wilson, Amy
German thermal management specialist Behr has established a major presence in the North American market with its purchase of a DaimlerChrysler parts operation in Dayton, Ohio.
The supplier's North American arm, Behr America, will assume more than 10 percent of the $6.4 billion (E7.3 billion) light-vehicle engine cooling and climate control market by acquiring the $600 million Dayton operation. Adding Dayton to Behr America's $230 million in existing sales will triple the company's size.
