Ford will not revise its platform-sharing policy among vehicles and across brands until much later in the decade.

Although austerity programs have been put in place to counter Ford's huge losses and overcapacity, the current product plan is basically cemented in place until 2007, analysts said.

Current platform-sharing schemes will continue until the next round of vehicle development.
