Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedOrganizer fails to save Turin show.
Automotive News Europe, February, 2002 by Ciferri, Luca
The Turin auto show is dead.
Organizer Promotor International cancelled the show after most non-Italian automakers decided not to exhibit this year. The 102-year-old show was scheduled for April 25 to May 5.
Promoter had tried to save the biennial event by changing it into an exhibition of auto technology called AuTOnext.
Promotor said automakers don't want to support auto shows in both Turin and Bologna - especially when the Italy's new-car sales are expected to decline 9 percent this year.
