Volvo makes alterations

Volvo will make design changes to three models after concern that electromagnetic fields could pose a health hazard.

Swedish magazine Vi Bilagare found high electromagnetic field ratings along the floorpanels of the S60, V70 and S80. Such fields can harm children and pregnant women.

The three models have the battery mounted in the back of the vehicle, with wiring running to the engine. Such a design causes an electromagnetic field.
