Nissan: recovery ahead
Nissan's market share in Europe has probably stopped shrinking and is poised to recover as new models are introduced, said Patrick Pelata, vice president of corporate and product planning.
"We think we're at the trough in terms of market share," he said.
Nissan's share of the western European market fell to 2.7 percent in 2001 from a peak of 3.5 percent in the mid-1990s.
Nissan is counting on the introduction of the new Primera this year and the new Micra early next year to boost European sales.
