Visteon has won a major contract to supply door panels for the 2003 Peugeot 407, beating out PSA-owned rival Faurecia.
Visteon Automotive Sys-tems will invest E30 million to build a 16,000-square-meter facility next to the PSA/Peugeot-Citroen assembly plant near Rennes in western France.
The Visteon plant will begin production late this year or early 2003 with 400 employees. Peugeot is expected to launch the 407 next year to replace the 406 upper-medium model. Faurecia supplies the door panels to the 406.
