Fiat cuts ads

TURIN - As well as reducing spending on new models and manufacturing, Fiat Auto CEO Giancarlo Boschetti said the Italian carmaker's advertising would be cut immediately.

As part of Boschetti's plan to reduce debt, 170.8 million will be cut from Fiat's advertising this year. According to Ad Age Global, Fiat spent more than 1 billion on advertising in 2000.
