The new Accord debuting at the Paris auto show in September is crucial for Honda's European recovery.

But beyond higher sales hopes, the new Accord is key to Honda's efforts to raise its image in Europe. The Accord will contain premium features that will spread to all other Honda models.

"The new Accord will be more of a prestige model," said Hiroshi Kobayashi, president of Honda Motor Europe North. "It has a more emotional character and will be positioned close to the BMW 3 series."
