Automotive News Europe, July, 2002 by Treece, James; Yamaguchi, Yuzo
Honda plans to export small cars built in China to Europe beginning in 2004.
Honda hopes to set up a second plant in Guangzhou Province in southern China, with an initial annual production capacity of 50,000 units.
The plant would also export cars to Asia, but they would not be sold in China or Japan.
The plans depend on the results of a feasibility study Honda is conducting with two potential local partners: Guangzhou Auto Group and Dongfeng Motor. The study is expected to be completed by this autumn.
