Ficosa China deal

Ficosa International of Spain agreed to provide technical assistance to automotive rear-view mirror maker Shanghai Benyuan. Ficosa also signed an option to buy 70 percent of the Chinese company within four years.

Shanghai Benyuan has annual sales of 7 million. It recently won the contract to supply rear-view mirrors to the Polo being made at VW's plant in Shanghai, China.

Ficosa has plants in 14 countries and had sales of 667 million in 2001. It supplies a range of products including mirrors, pedal assemblies, windshield washers and antitheft systems.
