A global supplier's knowledge base is a critical asset. Demands on a supplier's accumulation of know-how are growing as companies expand their range of products and partners.

That's why Valeo created a so-called "Collective Memory" information technology system that enables engineers to share standards and concepts globally.

"With so much information around, it is important to categorize and update it in a manner that is easy to access and, above all, guarantee its quality," says Louis-Michel Lamy, group director of new technologies at Valeo.
