PSA design teams grow but retain outside links.

The opening of PSA/Peugeot-Citroen's new 130-million design center near Paris will not halt collaborations with outside styling houses such as Pininfarina.

"We have been working with design consultants for many years," said Robert Peugeot, PSA's executive vice president for innovation and quality. "And we will continue to work with them, even though our people are going to have more resources."

Peugeot said PSA has a long, successful association with Pininfarina. The Italian company styled the Peugeot 406 coupe and 306 cabriolet and builds both models.
