What it is: Successor to the Z3 roadster - with, once again, controversial styling.
Following the criticism of the BMW 7 series, the new Z4 roadster has also caused controversy among design cognoscenti. But BMW's styling department - led by Chris Bangle - defends the Z4, saying it derives its tension from convex and concave surfaces with hard and soft lines, resembling the flames of a bonfire.
