A new form of polyurethane is allowing designers to develop car seats one-third thinner than traditional seats and create more space inside vehicles, says Belgian supplier Huntsman Polyurethanes.

Polyurethane that has been restructured at the molecular level facilitates the use of thinner seat padding without loss of occupant support or comfort, the company claims.
