Porsche boosts ads for Boxster.(News)

Faced with its first US sales slide in seven years, Porsche Cars North America is putting more advertising weight behind the Boxster.

Instead of splitting advertising evenly between the Boxster and 911, 70 percent will go to the Boxster during the next few months, said Kevin Nicholls, North American manager of marketing communications.

He would not discuss cost. Porsche spent $15.3 million ([euro]15.7 million) on US measured media last year, said Competitive Media Reporting in New York.
