Pricing pressures on suppliers in Germany may not be as bad as in the USA.
According to the German Federal Statistical Office, the cost of parts in Europe's largest automotive market rose in the first seven months of 2002.
After falling 1.6 percent between 1995 and 2000, the Statistical Office's index of factory gate prices of parts and accessories for vehicles and engines rose by 0.4 percent in 2001 and by a further 0.8 percent in the January to July period.
