MG Rover will invest about [euro]15 million to enter the Mexican market.
But company insiders say the move is not necessarily a prelude to the company's return to the USA. MG sports cars have not been sold there since 1981.
MG Rover, bought by the Phoenix group from BMW two years ago, has recruited six dealerships in Mexico. MG Rover plans to have more than 20 dealerships signed by the end of 2003.
