Bosch Chairman Hermann Scholl is expected to be replaced next year by his 59-year-old deputy, Tilman Todenhofer.
Scholl, 67, joined Bosch in 1963 and has been head of the world's second-largest auto components group for nearly 10 years. His current contract expires next June.
Bosch insiders say that although Scholl intends to retire from day-to-day management by mid-2003, he'll continue to have a major influence on group activities.
