DaimlerChrysler's Smart brand will expand its future model range with an all-wheel-drive, four-door vehicle built in Juiz de Fora, Brazil.
The new Smart - code-named NCC, or New Compact Car - is aimed at the US market, but it will also be sold in Europe.
The NCC will be developed with Mitsubishi Motors Corp. Daimler-Chrysler owns 37.4 percent of Mitsubishi.
