THINGS ARE going rather smoothly for Renault and its Chairman, Louis Schweitzer. A few seconds before this interview started on November 14, Schweitzer was happily commenting on the news that Renault had replaced Volkswagen as having the second-largest market capitalization among European car manufacturers, trailing only BMW.
Much of this is due to the spectacular recovery of the once-distressed Nissan, now the world's second-largest car company after Toyota in terms of market capitalization.
