IN YOUR recent article (January 13 issue) to mark the election of Heinz Nordhoff to the European Automotive Hall of Fame, it was a great shame that such scant regard was paid to the part played by the late Major Ivan Hirst in the post-war restoration of Volkswagen's manufacturing capability.
