While Fiat SpA struggles with Fiat Auto, the group's components subsidiary, Magneti Marelli, is putting together its own survival strategy.
Fiat recently took Magneti Marelli off the market after failing to sell the company. Some observers still expect it to be spun off. But Marelli CEO Dominico Bordone said in an interview: "We are no longer for sale."
