Growth outside Europe will drive Volkswagen group's annual volume to 6 million vehicles a year, predicts sales boss Robert Buchelhofer.
He repeated the mid-term target in separate interviews at the Detroit auto show with Automotive News Europe and German sister publication Automobilwoche. Buchelhofer sees China and North America as the most immediately promising growth markets but believes VW will find mid-term gains in South America, Russia, India and South Korea.
