Ford of Europe President Martin Leach became fascinated with cars at age five when his parents took him to a department store and allowed him to choose his own birthday present. He promptly chose a push car and pedaled it all over the store.
His career as car guy/entrepreneur took off when he was about 12 and became addicted to slot car racing. He financed his hobby by building slot cars and selling them to friends.
