The new RX300 sport-utility will contribute to Lexus' European presence.
The new model, which goes on sale on May 16, is expected to sell at a rate of 9,000 per year against about 5,000 for the current model. But Lexus does not expect substantial growth in Europe in the short term.
"Our sales will stabilize at about 20,000 to 25,000 units for the next three years," said Stuart McCullough, director of Lexus' European division. "But 2006 will be a take-off year."
